Oh So Healthy Chicken Zinger Burger!

Healthy Chicken Burger Recipe by thehoggerz.com

If you are bored of hogging usual moist and tender patty form of burgers, you have landed on the right site. Today, I am going to pass down the most likeable food recipe of my home, that is crispy and delicious zinger burger. I always wanted to add health points in this particular recipe due to its regular arrival on our dinner table. Avoiding all-purpose flour in most of the recipes doesn’t stop you from hogging fast food and it impacts the gut to the least. I have always kept a check on our consumption of unhealthy choices and instead of avoiding and controlling the cravings, I felt the need to change the nonessential elements into something better and healthy. So, if you are too looking out for something healthy yet toothsome then this recipe is definitely a delight.

I not only learned it but somehow tried to excel this recipe through a lot of trial and error because my husband is super choosy for this particular one. My quality check got approved after Hashim found the coating super crispy with a kick of perfect seasonings, insides moist with a lemony tender taste. Above all, its coating should remain firm in partnership with the tender and juicy chicken. These were some basic but most listed thoughts I have had while experimenting almost multiple times with this particular type of burger. If you follow my exact recipe, you will definitely be showered with a lot of amazing compliments from your family. If you love more of these kind of crunchy chicken recipes, you should also try my broast recipe, they are also great to go!

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Serves: 1-2 persons

Ingredients:

2 chicken fillet, boneless

Flour mix - 2 cups wheat flour + 1 cup powdered oats

2 cups water, chilled

1 cup cabbage coleslaw, click here for the recipe

3 cups cooking oil

2 burger buns

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

2-3 tablespoons tikka masala powder

1 tablespoon red chili powder, adjust heat according to your choice

¼ teaspoon black pepper powder

2 tablespoons salt

Iceberg, add as much as you like

1 cup mustard paste

1 cup ketchup

1 cup garlic French fries, click here for the recipe

2 cheese slices

1 lemon

Directions:

  • Wash chicken well, add 1 teaspoon salt and squeeze entire lemon into it. Give the pieces a gentle massage and leave it aside for 10 minutes. Later wash the chicken.
  • Make the spice mix by simply putting together 1 tablespoon of red chili powder, ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon each of ginger-garlic paste and 2 tablespoons heap of tikka masala powder and rub well on chicken fillets. Leave it aside for marination at least 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix 3 cups of flour mix and ¼ teaspoon salt.

Coating Process: 2 Fillets -> Coat in flour mix -> Dip in 2 cups chilled water -> Repetition again in flour mix -> Ready to Fry. [In Detail below]

  • First, pick up one fillet that is coated well with marinated spice and dip it upside down in flour mix. Massage well and drop the fillet in a bowl of chilled water and immediately remove in seconds. Without delay put the fillet back in flour mix and give it a nice massage by pushing the fillet inside the flour. As soon as the fillet is well coated with a crumbly texture give it a nice gentle shake and leave it aside. Repeat the same with other fillets.
  • In a pan, once the oil is medium-hot, gently drop fillets and allow it to fry for least 5 minutes without disturbing the process, change the sides and allow the other side to fry for 5 minutes. As the coating becomes firm from both the sides, allow it to fry on medium heat until light brown and remove.
  • Assemble: Apply 1 teaspoon mustard paste, 1 tablespoon ketchup, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon coleslaw on the bottom side of the bun. Put iceberg, zinger fillet, cheese slice and drizzle some ketchup and mustard paste as you like. Enjoy with garlic fries and mint margarita.
