The fruit salad is perfect season gift as its light, requires no cooking, absolutely delicious and so addicting. You can use whichever fruit your heart desires! No dependency on any season. Mango Treat - Aam Ras | Keri No Ras

Yum Yum Aam Ras Recipe By thehoggerz.com
Aam Ras substantially means mango loaded treat and whenever I think of this fruit I always gainsay with two things. In Hindi, Aam the word itself means “like ordinary”, and on the contrary Mangoes are also said to be the King of fruits. Secondly, I ween that every fruit is a King as it holds its own goodness and splendid taste. Fruits attract me through its vibrant color, soothing smell and of course its mind blowing taste. I like better to chew fruits instead of blending them so that I can relish its unique taste in every bite. Forbye chewing chunks of fruit means adding fiber, which is ultimately more beneficial than ever. But, there is no harm in getting a kick of it in the form of smoothie, juices or simply as a fruit yogurt.

Breakfast diaries - Yum Yum Old-Fashioned Doughnuts

Soft - Yummy Doughnuts by The Hoggerz

This and chicken bread was our conclusion for our sunday breakfast. The husband and I have had several weeks of relentless work and entertainment. So it was with much joy that we had a slowdown weekend. Golden hour: The bright sun woke us early, we headed to brisk walking following with our yoga regime. Hashim craved for little cookie or a moderate piece of donut so I went straight to my kitchen and prepared these chocolate glazed donuts after all what counts is how you start your day.  It is one of Hashimz favorites, consistently delicious with excellent services *ofcourse. It is very simple to make and delicious way to start your day. The lamination on it is a pure art and we washed it down with latte which made it more alive and of course our last episode of Supernatural. We have held this season for so long, mainly because we didn’t wanted to be a part of the show’s shutter down. Throughout the episode, I was wondering where did the dog go! Also the finale was very much truncated without the existence of Crawly and his epic dialogue – “Hello Boys”, wherein the boys had a terrific ending. Despite all of this, GoT last scene similar iteration made easy for us to get the hang of the loose ends.

Classic Cinnamon Rolls - Mouth Watering Recipe and more !!

Classic Cinnamon Rolls www.thehoggerz.com

Karachi has stretched its new sectors, from china port to outwards towards the charna island. I feel the change palpably on couple of annual visits. There is a new network of roads, a proliferation of malls too. What I love about the city is the call of variety of food not restricted only towards Pakistani and Indian food but at my surprise I cram my trip with list of cuisines. December is a lovely time to visit, but I prefer warm days coaxing flowers to bloom, trumpet flowers hung heavy with their fragrance, in my father in-laws garden, we had many cups of afternoon tea and late lunches in the garden. How can I forget that mama in-law made her signature biryani of chicken along with fruit custard and of course sight seeing, the latter often makes me feel like a tourist.

Hashim and I woke up early on Sunday to drive to the mall of Karachi. We had wanted to take pictures of the ancient buildings and museums. Karachi malls are the namesake of the mall in Dubai, it has existed because of the impressive and stunning architectural talent in the locals of Pashtun laborer, worth exploring to witness a piece of dubai. We ended our morning excursion on a breakfast of cinnamon rolls, chocochip waffles and frappuccino (Clifton city). The place we picked was tranquil and capacious, cinnabon rolls came out in a tray of their own in a steady rhythm. They were surprisingly good in a way soft bread rolled in flavors with delicate frosting all over the top, nothing can smell as good as freshly baked cinnabon rolls. If I am given an option to select the soft rolls or Hermes bag, I would choose these rolls! we were addicted to it, afterwards we had inviting waffles and came along candy ice cream!

Check our video and enjoy the goodness with us. Don't forget to subscribe us for more mouth watering food. We always try to capture and upload a piece of our memory on You Tube so that later we both can laugh together and re-live those amazing moments again. We tend to forget to shoot at most times but we always try to click, click and click. Hope you guys too enjoy watching a small part of us!

A Recipe Of Belgian Waffle

Belgian Waffle thehoggerz.com

In India, we treat ourselves with sweets and namkeen to crown the jiff of fest, Malpua is one of the mildly added saccharine pancakes that go along with rabdi or thick creamy sweetened milk. Malpau is sense to be delicate crepe made out of the mixture of refined flour and milk and later deep fried in clarified butter for spectacular taste and wonderful aroma. Malpua ranks high in the dessert section with a soft, crisp and satisfying note, dada used to bring me hot and soft malpua to put an amazing end of the day. Another fashion of pancakes that have regularly enticed me are the one's topped with chocolicious nutella, not so sweet and a flawless start of the morning. Simple batter, easy baking, fulfilling toppings and a great way to pack and carry along! Wonders can only happen on a lovely planet like earth, and what else can be a blessing portion than a beautiful series of pristine pancakes!

Creamy Chocolate Tart with Cherries Recipe

Creamy Chocolate Tart with Cherries Recipe www.thehoggerz.com

A small goody in the finesse of chocolates has always fascinated him, especially in the month of Ramzan, the fasting modus operandi month around the world. I find that its high-spirited festive and traditional nature of giving is much like thanksgiving and what can be grateful than the rich desert of chocolate ganache filled up perfectly in chocolate tarts. The thing about these types of recipes is that they can appear more tortuous than they actually are! At first, I felt little bashful in trying this out because of the length and the item list and obviously the steps involved. I’ve overcome that and now I feel confident in sharing my mini tart recipe with you’ll, what I got to know after a bit of an adventure and creation of tweaking is that keep trying with little of what you got and twist the steps as per your own style that can help. So here is a thing, don’t let the cookbook daunt you instead, leaf through the elements and steps and twist them as per your understandings, cheat where you can and enjoy with cream, fruits or simply melted chocolate and a glass of wine! After all, we all love to do it!

Icy Milky Falooda

It is not adequate for a falooda to just be sweet, a good falooda is one with a fine scoop of flavored ice cream, crunchy almond flakes, and flavored milk pep up together with jelly textured basil seeds and vermicelli, need I say more? In a true expression of the word, this healthy drink is really a quintessence of exuberance worthy taste in summers and the way it carries all the flavors in one big glass. While flashing down the memory lane Haji Ali fruit center strikes back all the happy hours spent with my gorgeous family, when dada used to take us along for a healthy heavy snacking, I have frequented in the days when I lived in Mumbai. The Haji Ali fruit center has stood up for really good eateries and mainly the custard apple (sitaphal) milkshake. What distracted me was the tempting list of fruit juices, I recall the flavorful Schezwan club grill sandwich was best and my brother’s special butterscotch falooda, his simplest pleasure of life.

In the mood of falooda, I settled on making this yummy milky dessert at home, with delightful memories to fulfill the strong perfection with rose syrup and jelly textured cooling effects. This dessert has always worked out great for me by allowing me to quickly refrigerate rose milk and vermicili in the morning for the instant evening preparations. I always serve this glass of drink with a light dinner to hit the spot by serving the right amount of kick.

Rose Falooda With Ice Cream

Falooda Dessert Recipe www.thehoggerz.com

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Serves: 2 glasses

Ingredients:
1 pack of pistachio ice cream, you can also try vanilla, strawberry or mango flavored ice cream as per your preference.
1 cup full fat milk
3-4 tablespoons basil seeds, if unavailable, you can use Chia seeds
½ cup rose syrup, I have used Roohafza syrup
1 cup falooda noodles or vermicelli
½ cup jelly (click now for jelly recipe), I have used strawberry jelly.
1 cup chopped pineapple, I have used the tin one's.

Method:
  • Firstly, soak basil seeds in water prior 1 hour of making falooda, as soon as they bloom simply drain the water and leave it aside.
  • Secondly, bring milk to boil and simmer until it reduces in quantity and becomes creamy in consistency, bring it to the room temperature and add 2 tablespoons of rose syrup and mix, refrigerate.
  • Prepare falooda noodles as per the packet instructions, rinse the cooked noodles and leave aside to cool, along with cool down the empty serving glasses half an hour before.
  • Prepare strawberry jelly (click here for its recipe) and slice it into cube shape.
  • In a glass, add 2 tablespoons of rose syrup, gently make the addition more or less as rose syrup adds sweetness in your drink, add 1 tablespoon of basil seeds, 1 tablespoon of cooked noodles and 1 tablespoon of jelly cubes, pour in chilled rose milk till 3/4th of the glass.
  • Gently scoop pistachio flavored ice cream on the top continuing with the addition of sliced almonds, cubed jellies and pineapple cubes, you can add mango pieces or cherries too. Serve immediately for fresh scoop of ice cream and yummy drink! Enjoy!

Virgin Pina Colada

The first working day of February asked for comfort, I can’t get over with the patch of morning blues, these are the days when I behest to pamper myself. What can be easier on the eye than a rousing and inviting fruit mocktail, I love the charm of pastel and soft hued shades, which is why this mocktail tries to enthrall my attention urging me to make it again and again. The refreshing flavor of pineapple coalesces quickly with the mild and sweet taste of coconut butter. As it's saccharine with a pronounced pineapple flavor, you can add milk cream to balance the sweetness, there is a fragrance of strained pineapple and coconut cream, because who doesn’t love a little luxury?

Itsy bitsy goodies in a form of breakfast have always pushed me to rise up early during my sluggish and dull days, Hashim would happily make pina colada and I would be busy plating slices of avocados, sourdough and scrambled egg, perfect kick start of our day. As it is said, happy life comes from happy tummy! And we love to dig our forks into an amazing piece of nature! Pina colada has been a staple drink of Spain and has always given its frequent appearance at tiki lounges, but now this yummilicious drink is giving a regular visit especially when we don’t have a time for breakfast! As pineapples are rich in enzymes, which is great for the digestive system as well as it is the best source of vitamin C, knowing the facts we love to sip this drink more often.

Vegan Pina Colada

Virgin Pina Colada www.thehoggerz.com.jpg

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 3 persons

Ingredients:
1 cup pineapple juice
½ cup pineapple slices, I have used the canned one’s
2-3 tablespoons coconut cream
1 tablespoon milk cream
Sugar as required
Crushed Ice as required

Method:
  • In a blender, add 3 tablespoons coconut cream and 1 tablespoon milk cream, blend until smooth.
  • Now add white rum to the blender, but I always make virgin pina colada by skipping this step. You can also add vanilla ice cream for a twist in flavor.
  • Add ½ cup pineapple slices, 1 cup pineapple juice, and sugar in a blender. Blend it well so that pina colada turns into a smooth, soft & creamy mocktail drink.
  • Adjust the consistency and taste by adding milk cream and pineapple slices. Before pouring the drink decorate the rim of the glass by simply rotating the rim of your glass in sugar syrup or honey until the rim is evenly wetted, later press the rim gently in the plate of fresh coconut flakes, Easy!
  • Pour it into a glass, sprinkle coconut flakes and garnish this delicious drink with crushed ice, pineapple or strawberry slices.
Who said Pina colada cannot be a non-alcoholic drink? Leave the rum out if you’re making this for the little ones as the points remain the same with or without. The main ingredient for making pina colada mocktail is coconut milk or cream. If you prefer non-alcoholic drinks, then this one is definitely must try for you. Whisk yourself away to a balmy tropical island for a few heavenly moments.

Fresh Cocktail Fruit Trifle

Desserts featured with chilled custards, deep creamy and heavy with vine fruits or soft sweet ones with delicate arrangements, we both love a little cream or custard to mellow the heat and sweet. In India, my quondam home, December is always a wedding season, so alongside the delicious meal are trays of my favorite desserts and kulfi-falooda’s. Gulab jamun is made by merging Khoya and grated paneer, these are particular to the sub-continent, we always prefer to eat the generous bowlful from the status restaurant but I think mama makes the best!

I always like succulent gulab jamun to be with a perfect balance of sugar, so mama wins this sweet recipe by frying the round shaped balls until they are crisp and darker in color, It gets better and better once it is dipped into an ambrosial sugary syrup or chasni. Believe me its the easy to go in one shot juicy, sweet that will just melt in your mouth like never before. Mama sometimes makes them in a round or cylindrical shapes and as it is time consuming it makes sense to make a larger batch, neatly packed in a jar and later kept refrigerated to keep through the winter. It takes several hours to make it, but it is truly worth it!

Dada would bring fresh sweets or desserts every day to satisfy our sugar craving after supper! As Gujarati and sweets are inseparable, it's a habit to end our day with yummy desserts or sweet goodies, work has almost occupied my time and hence I am not able to make any sort of Indian sweets frequently due to its lengthy cooking procedures, but how do I manage to replace my sweet cravings and satisfy my husbands needs! Well the answer to this is quick and easy to make fruit trifle. We all have a fruit tin pack lying in our refrigerator so all I need to do is make custard and jellies and layer them together for a delicious fruit trifle recipe that fulfills my uninvited sweet cravings. Eating so much sugar every time of day is bad, but eating a little of what you fancy won’t hurt you. This tempting colorful dessert is healthy, tasty and amazing blend of different layers. Try this and comment if you loved digging your spoons again and again. But don't forget to share your big bowl of dessert with your loved ones!

Healthy Sapodilla/Chikoo Milkshake

Well, today I just checked my fruit basket and I found these cute little fruits lying besides a bunch of mangoes. I brought them from a fruit market few days back and I forgot to use them while making fruit custard. Maybe that is why these little chikoo's got overly ripe and soft! But as they are too sweet and soft, I'm stopping myself from throwing them away. So today I am out with this chikoo shake recipe. Before making this shake do make sure that the chikoo's that you're using are sweet in taste and they have not turned sour or bad otherwise your hard work can be a total waste of time.

My husband hates simple chikoo milkshake so he adds chopped mixed fruits with lots of milk cream! I love the marriage of a scoop of chocolate ice-cream with this particular shake and this yummy idea, is a treat for my husband. I always understand his mood and I try to make him happy with different types of milkshakes. And this one was truly a win-win situation to change his not-so good mood!

This shake tasted so good when served chilled in breakfast and therefore voracious appetites would most certainly mean that the chikoo milkshake was guzzled down within minutes. I also love to sit out on the veranda, preferring a good music playing around the background with a glass of chilled chikoo milkshake and a bowl chocolate chip cookies! Simply Perfect!

Let's start blending!

Healthy Sapodilla/ Chikoo Milkshake

Sapodilla milkshake thehoggerz.com, Chikoo Milkshake thehoggerz.com

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients for Chikoo Milkshake
4-5 unseeded and chopped Chikoo
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup ice cubes
Sugar or honey as needed

Method:

  • With the help of a knife, roughly chop the chikoo into pieces and remove its seeds. If chikoo's are not overly ripe than simply peel the skin of chikoo with the help of a peeler.
  • In a blender, add 5 unseeded, peeled and chopped ripe chikoo and blend it with 1/2 cup milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  • Blend well into a smooth paste. Note that chikoo's are already sweet when turned ripe, so initially always add the least amount of sugar. Later you can adjust the sweetness and thickness of chikoo milkshake.
  • If you're doing it for your kids then try adding chocolate syrup or chopped mixed fruits or ice-cream as a fun element for them.
I hope you too enjoy drinking this healthy and not so difficult drink at home! Enjoy hoggerz!

Chocolate is everyone's favorite in our house. We love to eat chocolate pudding, chocolate cookies, chocolate ice creams and much more. For me, chocolate a day that keeps the doctor away! Chocolate is loved by everyone from all ages if used in a right way and proportion. I personally love to drink a chocolate smoothie or chocolate milk in my breakfast, but by the time I could grab chocolate bars, my dearest husband would wolf down my whole chocolate bar. It's like a cat and dog fight to win a chocolate bar, I think we haven't grown up yet even after our marriage ;)

Well! Now you can surely understand our love and craze behind chocolates and if you too have the same bonding with chocolate bars then this sweet and delicious recipe is just made for satisfying your sweet buds too! Sweet is just an incomplete dish if served without chocolate. Melted chocolate, powder chocolate or chocolate bar I think this is all I needed since the day I first tasted this heavenly eatable. I think this is the best invention of human's on this planet earth.

Dark chocolate, white chocolate or any mismatch version of chocolates can simply be a treat for me. Girls majorly love shopping or partying and I simply love eating, drinking and ending my day with chocolates!! I have always suffered from bad tooth aches for loving chocolates. But,  tooth aches couldn't stop my love from chocolates! I know this sounds quite like a love story, but this is how it is supposed to be when you are too much in love, so what if it's chocolate and not a guy!

Today, I have a very yummy and chocolicious recipe made completely from chocolate. This is my husband's childhood favorite recipe that is why I have decided to make this dessert for him every week! He loves to eat custard and especially this one. After a long, tiring time from work whenever he faced an awful day, I always try to surprise him with this one. And after having this I wait to see his million-dollar happy face! We all love surprises and specially the surprise wrapped in our favorite sweet item! Now, I have tried this recipe and it tasted exactly like the one he likes! We just enjoy the moments where we generously dig our spoons in one bowl like the mad lad. If you too want to feast on delicious, soft  and completely chilled chocolate custard than here is the recipe!

  • Keep adding chocolate custard powder until the milk mixture turns thick without any formation of lumps. Mix until the custard powder gets dissolved properly.
  • In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of full cream milk to boil. Once milk starts boiling add 4 tablespoons of sugar, Adjust the sweetness as desired.

Refreshing Grewia Asiatica/ Falsay Juice

Grewia Asiatica popularly known as Falsay in Asia. They are small berries that taste sweet and sour at the same time. The squash is prepared from its pulp as it acts as a cooling agent during summers. They are rich in vitamin C, calcium and if consumed regularly during the summers it can protect you from hot weather related health problems. I usually eat this small purple fruit by sprinkling a dash of coarse salt during hot and sticky June afternoons, it purifies blood and reduces my digestive problems.

Well, living in a Asian country we enjoy all sorts of fresh fruits, unique beverages and delicious street foods. Grewia Asiatica or Falsay was one of those treats here. I actually searched its recipe but couldn't find one. Just last week, I found out my aunt makes this all the time! So, thanks to my aunt, you too can prepare this sweet and tangy Grewia Asiatica juice in summers at home!

This makes a large amount and it is great for your backyard parties. I am a berry lover so this juice is an added bonus for me. It is made with clean and light ingredients and you can definitely include this drink in your water diet plan! I usually freeze it in the summer for an awesome berry Popsicle for my niece and nephew.

I did this with water instead of using soda or sprite to give you a healthier option and it just tasted as good as the soda version.

I always try to consume light meals during summers as this hot sunny day kills my mood. A large bowl of fresh salads or grilled fish is always welcome. Yummy Mango Milkshake Recipe

My family waits every year for this yellowish pulpy fruit. Mangoes are considered as the king of fruits and yes! It's truly a fruit that wins my family heart either ripe or unripe!. In our Gujarati culture, we try to prepare different types of delicious and freezer friendly ranges from the pickle, side-dish to juices. Mama always makes a sweet and spicy version of the pickle every year so that we can enjoy eating vegetables with pickles during rains. I remember, whenever she used to make pickles and moramba out of raw mangoes, my sister used to grab few pieces of chopped and grated raw mangoes and she enjoyed eating them by just sprinkling gentle amount of salt and chili powder. Believe me, every bite of raw mango will turn hot summers into a fun day.

I usually prefer eating mangoes where nobody is around but just me. I never peel and chop mangoes, all I do is give a gentle squeeze on each side of mangoes and make a small hole on the top notch of it and enjoy sucking the soft and yummy pulp. Mangoes brings my childhood days back! I always end up spoiling my clothes, fingers and sometimes face with its pulp.

We have an old Indian tradition of gifting mangoes to our relatives and neighbors as the mango season is considered as a festival in our culture. It feels great when we also receive lots of Alphonso mangoes from my nanny's farm. Now a days, I'm busy freezing mango pulps in plastic bottles so that I can enjoy them later while they are not available in markets.

My personal favorite mango recipe is mango milkshake. It is easy to make, healthy because of the addition of milk and cream and importantly tummy filling for people like me who could eat a horse!

Today, I will be sharing with you my husband's recipe where you do not have to struggle for lots of ingredients. Keep it simple and enjoy this milkshake every morning so that you stay energetic throughout your busy working day.

Mango Milkshake

Hearty Mango Milkshake Drink Reciipr
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2 persons

Ingredients:
3 fresh ripe Mangoes
1 cup full cream milk
3-4 tablespoons of cream
1 tablespoon of honey
Few ice cubes

Method:
  • Peel the skin of mangoes with the help of a knife or peeler and cut them into cubes. I have used Alphonso mangoes, you can use any type of ripe mangoes available.
  • In a juicer, add chopped mango pieces, 1 cup full cream milk, 3 tablespoons of cream. Add little water if needed. Blend until the consistency turns smooth and thick.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of honey and a few ice cubes and blend well. Adjust the sweetness as desired. We always prefer using honey as a sweetener as it is considered healthier than sugar.
  • Pour immediately into the serving glass, and serve chilled. You can also garnish with a scoop of vanilla or mango flavored ice-cream.
I usually add tutti frutti and chopped dry fruits whenever I make it for my nephews as they are too fussy for fruits and milk. This can be the best way of hiding all the nutrition in one glass!

Try this recipe and do comment!
